EXAP for power cables
▪ General rules for the application of the EXAP:
The application is NOT allowed (at the moment) for
− Fire class B1
− Tests on bundled cables, i.e. for cables with a diameter below 5 mm 成束样品
− Tests on cables with a non-round cross-section 横截面非圆形
− Tests on cables without at least one metallic conductor 没有金属导体
▪ General procedure:
• Within EXAP, cable families are defined (see next slide) 系列的定义
• Within these families, according to special rules test samples are selected 测试样品选 取
• Safety margins are added to the test results of these test samples 安全临界值的标注
• The lowest values out of these results generate a (fictitious) set of results 最低值标注
• The classification of this set of results give the fire class of the family 系列燃烧等级判定

• General EXAP:
− Calculations are more complex
− At least three tests are necessary
− General EXAP can be applied for all cable types (within the mentioned scope)
• Special EXAP
− Calculations are more simple
− Only two tests are necessary
− Special EXAP can only be applied for the following standard cable families:
▪ Single core cables, with/without sheath 有或没有护套的单芯线
▪ Multi core cables, with/without armour 有或没有铠甲的多芯线
− There are restrictions concerning the dimension of the cable 线缆的外径会受到限制
